A qualified cavy vet is essential in an Emergency. Seek treatment immediately if: 1) your cavy had an encounter with another animal where she/he may have been bitten or scratched; 2) chewed on a plugged in or unplugged electrical cord, 3) was stepped or sat on, 4) if conditions have caused temperature extremes, 5) and/or ANY of the following: bleeding,gasping, diarrhea, staggering, inability to walk, irritated eyes or mouth
